This freezer-friendly BBQ pork chop is the perfect dish for a cookout or BBQ at home. I love making this dish when I have friends over, but I also make it ahead of time and take it to our next cookout. It is easy to make and can save you the headache of deciding what to cook next.
This Freezer-Friendly BBQ Pork Chop Recipe Is Great Any Time!
Let’s be honest, who does not like BBQ pork? It is a staple of the summertime, but even in the fall and winter, it can be a treat. These pork chops prove that you can make a barbecue dish any time of the year. Serve with coleslaw, roasted potatoes, mac and cheese, or even rice.
To make this, I use pork chops, ketchup, light brown sugar, liquid smoke, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder.
If it is easier, you can always use premade barbecue sauce instead. You could also use other ingredients, like pork ribs, pork loin, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, chopped onions, and even ginger.
The beauty of this dish is it allows you to experiment as much as you want. When you feel adventurous, you can add soy sauce, red pepper flakes, sriracha, or even hot sauce.
Be sure to bake your pork chops for about 25 minutes. Mix the sauce ingredients in the meantime, and then coat the chops before finishing the baking time for an extra 10 to 15 minutes.
Freezing and Unfreezing the Pork Chop
To refrigerate the meal, all you have to do is let the chops cool down entirely. Place them in an airtight container, and keep them in the fridge for up to four days. Reheat them in the oven later.
If you want to freeze these chops, then it is best to keep them uncooked and wrap them individually. Combine all the sauce ingredients and then transfer it to an airtight container. Label everything and keep the cooking directions. You can freeze it all for up to eight months.

3/4 cup (177 ml) ketchup
3/4 cup (96 g) light brown sugar
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
- Preheat oven to 350 F (177 C).
- Put pork chops in a 9 by 13 inches baking dish, bake them for 25 minutes.
- Combine ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder and onion powder in a medium bowl.
- Coat pork chops with the mixture.
- Bake for another 10 minutes until browned and the internal temperature reaches 145 F (63 C).
- Serve and enjoy!
